Ben Kalny City Council

Ben Kalny is serving his second term as a member of the Lake Quivira City Council and is currently Vice Mayor. Ben has over 30 years of fond memories at Lake Quviira and he and his wife Valerie have four children.“

We are all fortunate to live in such a special place,” Kalny says. “It is incumbent upon both Quivira, Inc. and the City of Lake Quivira to work together to ensure that we honor our heritage and fiercely defend our uniqueness, while making sound, long-term decisions that will protect our community for generations to come.”

Ben has an undergraduate degree in business as well as a law degree. He is a principal and co-founder of Axiom Equities, a real estate investment firm.

Dave White City Council

Dave White is serving his second term on the Lake Quivira City Council. He’s been a member of Lake Quivira since 1998 - first as an off lake member - before moving on lake where he lives with his wife Mary Ann.

A native of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Dave spent his entire career with Marion Laboratories and that is how he came to Kansas City. “Marion was a wonderful place to work and provided me, through Mr. Kauffman, so much opportunity to grow,” White says. “One of Mr. K’s teachings was to “treat others as you wish to be treated.” This philosophy has been around for awhile, but so easily neglected.”

Dave has served in many roles over the years at Lake Quivira, including The Quivira Inc. Public Relations and Membership Committee, Security and Safety Committee, Finance Committee and the Restrictions and Architectural Review Board. “Our community is a privilege to live in, and its beauty and uniqueness should be preserved,” Dave adds.
