ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Each bidder shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum to Duck Cove Stormwater Improvements by listing “Addendum No. 1” and including his/her signature on the Signature of Bidders and Acknowledgement of Bid Proposal, Proposal Guarantee and Addenda pages and including with the bid proposal package.

The original Bid for Duck Cove Stormwater Improvements remains in effect except as revised by the following changes. 

Until 4 PM August 16, 2019, potential  bidders may obtain a link to electronic copies of the bid documents at no cost by contacting Chad Johnson at cjohnson@olsson.com.
Note 13 in SC-1 has been modified as indicated below. Construction staking shall be subsidiary to other items in the Bid. 

SC-1. GENERAL: 

13.       The City shall provide part- or full-time inspection and recommend testing, as required and determined by the City. Construction survey staking is to be provided by the Contractor. The Consulting Engineer shall not be responsible for damage to survey control. The Contractor shall be required to pay for any additional surveying necessary because of damage or vandalism.

Notice to Bidders
City of Lake Quivira, Kansas

Sealed proposals will be received from Bidders by the City of Lake Quivira, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, at the office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 10 Crescent Blvd, Lake Quivira, KS  66217, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, until 4:00 p.m., August 20, 2019 at which time, the bids received will be opened and publicly read for the construction of the public improvements as described herein.  Bidders will be notified of the results within fourteen (14) days of the date set above for bids to be received.  The Contract shall be awarded by the Governing Body of the Owner at the sole and complete discretion of such Governing Body.  The City of Lake Quivira reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities in bids.

This project provides for the construction of approximately: 57 linear feet (LF) of 10’x5’ Precast Reinforced Concrete Box, 60 cubic yards (CY) of structural concrete, and 90 LF handrail. The project also provides for construction of approximately: 1,000 LF RCP ranging in size from 15” to 24” diameter and 100 LF 12” HDPE  along with 21 storm structures; 800 LF curb and gutter, 540 SY street repair, 4,200 SY Sod, 270 SY riprap, and demolition of the existing culvert, grading, traffic control, erosion control, and other related improvements as outlined in the plans and specifications.

Electronic copies of the Contract Documents and plans may be obtained after 8:00 a.m., July 31, 2019, from Olsson, Inc., 7301 W. 133rd St., Suite 200, Overland Park, Kansas 66213 for a non-refundable fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per CD. No hard copies of the bid documents will be provided by the Owner.

Each Bidder shall file with their bid a cashier’s check, certified check, or bid bond drawn on an acceptable bank in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Bid Bonds will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders, with the exception of the second qualifying bidder, at such time as their bids are rejected. 

All Bidders shall verify that they have considered all written addenda.  Any written addenda issued during the time of bidding shall be covered and included in the bid.  There will be no clarifications or exceptions allowed on the Bid.  Bids are for a total bid package, and total contract price.

Each bid shall be made on a printed proposal form included with these documents.  Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and shall be marked “Bid for: CITY OF LAKE QUIVIRA DUCK COVE STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS”.  An officer of the firm making such proposal shall properly execute all proposal forms.  Bids received after the time and date above specified shall be returned, unopened, to the Bidder.

The project is on private property, and access needs to be arranged. Contact the City Clerk at 913-631-5300 to arrange access to the site.
