Part-time Building Official
The City of Lake Quivira is accepting applications from qualified candidates to serve as a part-time Building Official. The Building Official is responsible for coordinating plan review and all stages of permitting. The ideal candidate has previous municipal experience, is an exceptional communicator, and thrives in a community with lots of unique builds. Lake Quivira is a fun community in both Johnson & Wyandotte Counties and averages around 50 permits annually.
This position is expected to perform work in enforcing compliance with building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, housing, environmental, and all other applicable codes, regulations and ordinances as adopted by the City of Lake Quivira; to work with developers, superintendents, and contractors to maintain requirements for building codes. The Building Official will be responsible for making recommendations on building code amendments to stay current with industry standards. The Building Official is also responsible for ensuring erosion and sediment control standards are met throughout the construction process. They will be responsible for communicating all information with the members of the Building & Zoning Association (BZA) and hosting their monthly meetings which are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Wage range is depending on qualifications. The position will remain open until filled.
