Lake Quivira Municipal Court is located in Wyandotte County and is a court of limited-misdemeanor jurisdiction. 

Specifically, the Court hears infractions and most misdemeanors.  The majority of cases involve traffic-related

infractions or misdemeanors.  Additionally, the court hears occasional codes and animal cases.

 Court is held on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.  

 When you arrive at court, please proceed to the Council Chambers located inside City Hall and sign in.   

  • Cases are heard on a first-come, first-serve basis. 
  • Please sign in when you arrive.
  • Arrive at Court on time.
  • Appropriate dress is required. 
  • Defendants under the age of 18 must appear with a parent or legal guardian.
  • All electronic devices must be turned off.
  • Amendment options may be available for certain moving violations. Amendments are offered at the Prosecutor's discretion and are considered a privilege, not a right.
  • Continuances can be granted one time by phone.  Future continuance requests must be made in person before the judge.  
  • If your citation lists a fine amount and you wish to plead guilty or no contest to the charge, you can pay your fine before the listed court date and you will not have to appear in court.  
  • If your citation lists "COURT", you must appear in court at the specified date and time.

To request discovery: Click on the link at the bottom of this page to print a request form. Costs for discovery are listed on the form. 

Checks should be made payable to the Lake Quivira Police Department and mailed to 10 Crescent Blvd., Lake Quivira, KS 66217

An Entry of Appearance, completed Request for Discovery form, and payment are required in advance of discovery being released.

Payment(s) can also be made online via our city website. Return to the home page and select the tab "Online Payments" and follow the prompts in the down menu.

The office remains open and does not close at 5:00p on Tuesdays when Court is scheduled for that day

8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (closed 1p - 2p).
The office is closed on Friday.
