Interested in Serving in City Government?
Qualified candidates interested in running for mayor or city council in the City of Lake Quivira should file with the Johnson County Election Office. Because the Lake Quivira community is situated in both Johnson and Wyandotte counties, the county with the larger population takes precedence during elections (per K.S.A. 25-2110(e). Check here for information on how to file for City offices.
Mayor and City Council – Applicants must meet these requirements: Eighteen years of age A citizen of the United States A resident of the City of Lake Quivira A registered voter Positions Opening Up Next – The following positions are the next opening up in city government: Mayor – 2025 (two-year term) Council member – 2025 (four-year term)
