Composting and Dumpsters

Community Dumpsters - The City provides dumpsters below the dam, adjacent to the picnic area, to encourage sustainable practices and a cleaner environment in our community:

• (2) yard-waste dumpsters – Acceptable items include organic materials, including grass, garden, tree and shrub clippings. Plastic bags, pots and metal are not acceptable. Violators are subject to a $500 fine.
• (2) recycling receptables – Flattened cardboard and paper, plastic bottles, aluminum and steel cans.
• Multiple purple recycling dumpsters for glass.

Items must be placed inside the dumpsters. It is not acceptable to place items outside the dumpsters.

Large Item Pickup, Shredding, and Charitable Donation Events – The City sponsors a large item pickup event twice a year as well as ad hoc shredding events. A truck from a local charitable thrift store also may be scheduled for pickups in conjunction with these events. Refer to the City’s website calendar for details once these events are scheduled.
