City To Launch Resident Notification System

The City of Lake Quivira is launching TextMyGov, a convenient and smart text messaging service that enables residents who opt in to automatically receive important notifications. Notifications will cover a range of issues, including events, road closures, emergency advisories, city news, and election instructions.
The City will officially launch the new text messaging system to residents on September 3, 2024. Residents may receive a text message from 91896 from the City of Lake Quivira to initiate the service. Residents can choose to opt-out at any time by texting "STOP."
If you don’t receive the initial message, you can choose to opt-in by texting the keyword "City of Lake Quivira" or "CLQAlerts" to the number 91896. After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply “YES” to confirm your intent to opt in. For specific text alerts, text one of the following keywords to the number 91896:
"We’re excited about using this new technology to communicate more directly with our residents," says Mayor David McCullaugh. "Other governmental entities across the country are utilizing this system with great success. We will be eager to hear from residents about what they think of this new systems and types of alerts they will find helpful in the future.
